How to Replace a Fog Light on a 2005 Subaru Impreza

Introduction

Fog lights on 2005 Subaru Impreza’s allow you to see easier during foggy weather. They also improve your visibility during other stormy weather when driving conditions are difficult. Fog lights cut through fog to help your vision. It is important to replace broken fog lights as soon as you notice that they are damaged because you never know when bad weather will strike and you will need to see especially well while driving during inclement weather.

Things You'll Need:

- Car jack

- Jack stands

- New fog light bulb

Instructions

Step 1

Lift the front of the Subaru using a jack. Rest the car on jack stands. This will give you access to the fog lights.

Step 2

Position yourself so that you are reaching under the bottom of the car. Grab the bulb and its socket.

Step 3

Twist the socket a tiny bit in the counterclockwise direction. Pull the socket straight back to remove it from the light. Next, you can easily remove the bulb.

Step 4

Install a new bulb in place of the old one. Press the new bulb into the socket until it is secure.

Step 5

Turn the socket a bit in the clockwise direction. Remove the jack stands and lower the front of the truck with a jack.
